Module 3: Forgive Your Body
It’s a bad hair day, good grief I look like hell!

The Church says: The body is a sin.
Science says: The body is a machine.
Advertising says: The body is a business.
The body says: I am a fiesta.

Practicing the lesson – post your answers below!

Most of us have parts of our body that we have been speaking badly of for as long as we can remember. It is time to change that dialogue right now!

  1. Make a list of all the parts and aspects of your body that you hate.
  2. Re-write those comments to statements that reflect the truth. So instead of saying “My hips are so huge,” say instead – “My hips are perfect curves that my partner enjoys caressing.”
  3. In the shower, run your hands over those body parts and thank them for serving you well. (Come on – it isn’t that difficult and it is only weird if you judge it to be so.) Infuse them with gratitude, love and kindness for being faithfully at your command despite your harsh criticism.
  4. Recognize that if you do not love and respect those parts how can you expect a partner to do so. If you have a partner that is using the same disrespectful dialogue as you do towards your body – recognize that you have helped train that person to believe and support the negative thoughts and judgments that you yourself hold. Perhaps it is time to get a new partner that loves you just the way you are?

Today’s Affirmation
